Sabaidee Laos "Sabaidee" Laos (February & March 2014)

When you drive through Laos on a bicycle or a motorbike there are hundreds of happy, joyful children waving and smiling at you shouting "Sabaidee" which means "Hello" in Lao. Their happiness is intense and honest and it is impossible not to smile back.

The South Island gave us a warm welcome with lots of sunshine. We drove along scenic roads, hiked to mountain huts and slept there, went swimming in crystal clear lakes, saw animals you usually only see in the Zoo, went Sea-Kayaking and fought an unwinnable battle with billions of sandflies.
